‘Tis the season for being thankful and giving back to the community!
The team at STA has been getting in the holiday spirit by working with the Labouré Center on their Christmas House Tour. While this is the second time team STA has participated in this event, it is the 24th year of this South Boston tradition.
Over the past few weeks, the STA office has had a great time getting to know our homeowner and digging through all the holiday goodies at the Labouré Center.
The tour itself consists of five beautiful homes that were decorated by design firms also within the South Boston community. Our team was lucky enough to be paired with a stunning first floor condominium with exquisite details throughout the Industrialist Period brick home. Original doors, antique furniture pieces, and hardwood floors are accentuated by a rich color palette of neutrals with pops of red and green.
To highlight the grandeur of this home, our decorations followed a “Classically Charming Christmas” theme. Visitors are welcomed to this 1860s home with cheerful lights and a lush garland at the front entry. Stepping through to the entryway, another beautiful garland accents the stairway and a proud stag greets guests.
Rich reds and golds are featured in the living room, which boasts two fireplaces and intricate cornice moldings. The grand focal point of the home, it is an elegant, yet cozy, space to entertain during the holidays.
The inviting kitchen plays up the existing green color scheme with a more rustic traditional feel to create a more intimate entertaining space. Pops of candy cane flair, gold, cinnamon sticks, and fresh greenery highlight this comfortable, eat-in kitchen.
Just off the kitchen is another special part of this home – an exterior porch overlooking M Street and the Medal of Honor Park. With rustic touches like burlap, mason jars, and pine cones, this cozy area is a vintage winter wonderland.
Guests can warm up in front of yet another fireplace in the home’s front dining room, which is elegantly draped in lights and highlighted with an assortment of candles. This charming room also features a unique centerpiece, generously donated by Richard at Cedar Grove Gardens. These fresh greens and decorations of rich purples, greens, and silvers give this space a comfortable yet sophisticated feel.
An amazing experience for all involved, STA is honored to have been a part of such an iconic tradition. Many thanks to our friends, colleagues, and neighbors for all of your support!
